Ancient Orient Museum 古代オリエント博物館

7F Sunshinecity Bunkakaikan 3-1-4 Higashi Ikebukuro Toshima-ku Tokyo

Time travel to the Ancient Oriental world

Learn about ancient West Asian and Egyptian civilizations at Tokyo's Ancient Orient Museum. This museum was opened in 1978 and is the first museum about the ancient Orient in Japan. Not only does the museum exhibit lots of precious items, but it also showcases the results of its proactive research and field surveys. Take a look at what Japanese archaeologists and historians have found from their excavations in Syria and Bulgaria. These projects typically last for years–one even up to 25 years. You will also see artifacts from external exhibitions at the museum at specific times.
