The honorary stationmaster of Oizumi-gakuen Station, Seibu Railway Ikebukuro Line is the conductor of Galaxy Express 999.

There is a life-size figure of a conductor of Galaxy Express 999 who became stationmaster of Oizumi-gakuen station on the Seibu Railway Ikebukuro Line in 2008. The figure watches over safety of passengers. The author Leiji Matsumoto has lived in Oizumi for over 50 years. The departure melody at Oizumi-gakuen Station is, of course, Galaxy Express 999.
