Humpback Whale Custom-Designed Manhole Covers ザトウクジラをモチーフにしたオリジナルデザインマンホール

Chichijima, Ogasawara Village, Tokyo

Ogasawara Village held a design competition for its original manhole covers in 2016 and chose a design featuring a humpback whale from 63 excellent submissions. It launched a cover featuring the whale swimming freely in the sea of Ogasawara under the blue sky in 2017 and another swimming at sunset in 2021. Now you can spot dolphins and whales on the land and in the Bonin Blue Sea. Enjoy "whale watching" in the street!
