Within the halls of the Taito Ward Shitamachi Museum, the old downtown areas of Tokyo during the Taisho era (1912-1926) are faithfully reproduced, allowing you to get a glimpse of the daily lives of people in those days. At one of the displays, remove your shoes to enter the typical house of a Taisho era commoner. Feel free to make yourself at home—you are welcome to touch the furnishings and useful tools that served the people of those times.
