Cartier, Crystallization of Time カルティエ、時の結晶

The National Art Center, Tokyo, 7-22-2 Roppongi, Minato City, Tokyo
2019-10-2 - 2019-12-16

An introduction to contemporary Cartier creations since 1970

This exhibition throws a spotlight on Cartier pieces made since 1970, in a world-first event looking at the innovation, modernity and uniqueness of Cartier’s creative work, against the backdrop of the company’s manufacturing history. The theme is “Time”, and the event delves into Cartier’s world, in three “chapters”. Hiroshi Sugimoto and Tomoyuki Sakakida’s “New Material Research Laboratory” oversaw the composition of the venue, and through their principle of “traditional materials are the newest” they produced an exhibition space that makes the visitor aware of “time” as they wander through it.
