Just outside of Toritsu-Daigaku Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line is a row of cherry blossom (sakura) trees. When they bloom, people gather to take in the view. The illuminations—which have the theme "lights connecting the sakura, the river and the town"—use soft pink light to ensure that each and every petal looks its best. Lights also shine underfoot to represent the Nomigawa River, which once flowed through here, and images of cherry blossoms are projected onto the walls.
Note: This event is sponsored in part by the Spring Illuminations Model Business Grant, a program run jointly by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau.
