In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
Note: This event will not take place in 2020.
The area alongside the Shakujiigawa River is known as one of the top ten sights of Itabashi. It's famous for its cherry blossom (sakura) trees that line the water on both sides. The section between Kubotabashi Bridge and Shin-Nishiharabashi Bridge is illuminated at night to coincide with the blooming of the cherry trees. It's an experience not to miss, as the trees will be lit up with more lights than previous years, enhancing the vivid pink and white colors of the flowers. It almost feels like you can reach up and touch them!
Note: This event is sponsored in part by the Spring Illuminations Model Business Grant, a program run jointly by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Please check the official event website for the latest updates on opening dates and times, prices, and other information.
