In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
Come to Hachijojima Island, which is roughly 300 km south of mainland Tokyo, for the annual Freesia Festival. The mere sight of these colorful freesia blossoms soothes the soul, as the flowers' fragrance fills the air. Enjoy an outdoor tea ceremony as you gaze upon the splendid, expansive fields of flowers. The festival also has an area where you can pick flowers for free. What's more, you'll find a market selling Hachijojima's specialties—starting with freesias, of course.
