In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
Tokyo Yosakoi is organized by four shop associations on the west side of Ikebukuro Station. Since 1968, it has been held in October as the second half of the Fukuro Matsuri, Ikebukuro's annual festival. During the event, over 100 teams gather from across Japan to show off their yosakoi dance routines, which are accompanied by energetic chanting.
The performance music is based on the standard yosakoi song. Folk songs such as "Tokyo Ondo" and those from other areas are incorporated as well. In addition to enjoying the dancing, stop by this beloved Toshima City festival to see exhibits of products from sister cities and various company-sponsored booths.
Please check the official event website for the latest updates on opening dates and times, prices, and other information.
