This is the 39th Chofu Fireworks Festival. In addition to the “50 non-stop mega-fireworks” and “Hanabillusion,” where fireworks are timed to match the music, this year sees a return of the “Master’s Fireworks” display that received such a rapturous reception last year. One of the various paid seats is also recommended for the best views of these dynamic fireworks.
”Hanabillusion” is a portmanteau of “hanabi”—the Japanese word for "fireworks"—and "illusion.”
