The historic Chofu City Fireworks Festival began in 1933. The program centers around the festival's specialty, the "Hanabillusion" display, which vibrantly decorates a new chapter in its history. The display of fireworks perfectly synchronized with music via computer control—said to have originated at the Chofu Fireworks—is nothing short of breathtaking. Additionally, spectators can enjoy high-quality firework performances featuring the launch of a magnificent sequence of 50 consecutive large fireworks, as well as fireworks crafted by makers from all over Japan.

”Hanabillusion” is a portmanteau of “hanabi”—the Japanese word for "fireworks"—and "illusion.”
