Head for Yokamachi Road from Hachioji Station's north exit, and discover the Hachioji Summer Market, which spans Nishi-Hoshasen U-Road. Browse the locally grown morning glory flowers, traditional wind chimes, and crafted candy. On Saturday, July 6, you can see Hachioji geisha, clad in yukata (cotton kimonos) and selling flowers. Coinciding with the local Tanabata Matsuri (Star Festival), the market also has rides and other events, so come visit for some old-fashioned charm.
