Every year, the Koganei Awa-odori Dance Competition marks summer season in Koganei. Many dance troupes from Koganei and across Japan participate to show off their best dance moves. From orthodox traditional styles to New Wave, many variations of the Awa-odori dance are performed here. Enjoy the bustling energy of the crowds, feel the vibrations of the taiko drums, and hear bells and enthusiastic voices resounding through the streets.
