5-31-26 Hakusan, Bunkyo City, Tokyo
Early June 2023 - Mid June 2023

In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.

Located in central Tokyo, Bunkyo City has a charming, old-fashioned atmosphere and is known for its rich nature and beautiful flowers. Visitors and residents can enjoy seasonal flowers throughout the year. Bunkyo holds five major flower festivals annually, beginning with the Plum Festival in February. In early summer, over 3,000 hydrangeas around Hakusan-jinja Shrine and Hakusan Park come into bloom, brightening up the city during Japan's rainy season. At Hakusan-jinja Shrine, the main site of the Hydrangea Festival, a number of street stands selling potted hydrangeas and other festive items line the path to the shrine.
