In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
This year's Marunouchi Illumination, marking the 17th edition of the event, will feature a million LED bulbs in the financial district’s original shade of champagne gold, coloring over 220 trees along Marunouchi's 1.2-kilometer-long Naka-dori Street. This year, the Gate of Light will make a reappearance in the Yurakucho area, in the area by the Kokusai Building and New Kokusai Building. In addition, this year the illumination will extend to Otemachi Naka-dori Street. The low-power consumption "new eco illumination" has been upgraded to some 680,000 bulbs this year to preserve the radiance of the display while remaining friendly to the environment. The brilliant night view is on for about a hundred days for the pleasure of Marunouchi visitors.
