Note: The 2023 installment of this event has already taken place.
The Marunouchi Illumination, now in its 22nd year, will light up over 360 trees along Naka-dori Street with around 1.2 million champagne gold LEDs. The display will stretch about 1.2 km from the Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan building in front of Yurakucho Station to Otemachi Naka-dori Street. This year, the illuminations will be expanded to part of “Gyoko-dori Street” connecting the Outer Gardens of the Imperial Palace with Tokyo Station for four weeks from Tuesday, November 28th to Monday, December 25th during which the winter scenery unique to the Marunouchi district of Tokyo can be enjoyed.
During this period, illuminations can also be enjoyed at the “Marunouchi House” terrace on the 7th floor of Shin-Marunouchi Building together with a limited-time hot menu with heaters provided.
As part of continuing efforts towards protecting the environment, the event will make use of energy from renewable sources, such as solar and wind power.
