Running 12.2 kilometers between Minowabashi Station and Waseda Station, the Tokyo Sakura Tram has a colorful secret. Ride the tram during spring and you'll be treated to views of vibrant roses bursting into bloom along the route.
Between early May and early June you can view around 140 types of flowers crammed into four kilometers of the Arakawa area—a total of 13,000 blooms.
Minowabashi Station still exudes the charm of 1950's Tokyo and its sensational rose blooms in spring are a source of local pride. A visit to the area offers you a true downtown-Tokyo experience—quite different to the glass and steel of Shinjuku and Tokyo Station. The Arakawa Rose Association is a team of volunteers dedicated to looking after the station's flower beds allowing visitors and locals alike, the chance to appreciate some of Tokyo's best blooms.
