The Ueno Royal Museum 上野の森美術館

Art from the east and west, then and now

The Ueno Royal Museum, opened in 1972, belongs to the Japan Art Association and is the only private museum in Ueno Park. Although exhibitions are not permanent at this museum, you will find plenty of bronze statues and stone monuments standing solemnly at or near the museum. Check out exhibitions on various genres of Japanese and Western arts—you will see both modern and ancient arts here.
