Edogawa Ward created custom-designed manhole covers featuring Kiki and her black cat from Kiki's Delivery Service. Hans Christian Andersen Award-winning author Eiko Kadono illustrated as Kiki is on the covers. Kiki's Delivery Service is her most famous work. You will find the manhole covers at the entrance of Nagisa Koen Park, the square in front of Kasai Station West Gate, and the plaza in front of Nishi-Kasai Station South Gate in Edogawa Ward. The ward also plans to open the Edogawa City Eiko Kadono Children's Literature Museum in November 2023 to introduce visitors to Kadono's achievements, how she depicts stories, and how great children's literature is.
