“Coloring the autumn night sky,” winner of the Kita City Assembly President’s Award, Tourism category, 7th Kita City Tourism Photography Contest

The Kita City Fireworks Association is led by a local private organization and supported closely by the local residents. The community-made event affectionately takes the name of its organizers.
The venue along the banks of the Arakawa River is divided into paid seating by the “blue water gate,” where musical fireworks can be enjoyed at concert-level acoustic quality; paid seating by the “red water gate” (the older of the Iwabuchi Water Gate and a longtime favorite of the residents), offering a photogenic view of the firework display; and admission-free seating. All areas command a good view of the more than 7,777 fireworks that color the autumn night sky.
