The hot springs of the Black Spa warm your body from its very core

Hotel Suehiro is an economical hotel that, while still in Tokyo, is surrounded by the healing environment of Kamata's Kuro-yu Black Spa. The hotel is located just in front of the south entrance of Kamata Station, on the JR Keihin Tohoku line and Tokyu Railways Ikegami and Tamagawa lines. With good access to Haneda Airport, Tokyo, and Yokohama it's in a great location for travel and sightseeing as well as a base for conducting business.

With Japanese and Western-style rooms, the hotel accommodates a wide variety of guests

The hotel has a total of 46 guest rooms. The photo shows a single room.

The hotel has single, twin, and double Western-style rooms as well as Japanese-style tatami rooms for families or friends who wish to stay together in the same room. Single and twin rooms with and without ensuite bath/toilet are available, but all double and Japanese-style rooms have ensuite baths and toilets. On the first floor is the hotel's communal hot spring bath, which draws water from Kamata Black Spa. The bath is open until midnight and from 6am to 9am. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi and LAN internet, and the reception desk provides LAN cables.

Gentle beams of sunlight filter into the hotel’s spacious Japanese-style tatami room

The hotel has Japanese-style rooms of two sizes, one of nine tatami mats and the other of twelve mats (one tatami mat is about 1.6 square meters). Sleeping on futons laid out in a large tatami room with your family or friends is the epitome of Japanese-style travel. Staying in a large group in a tatami room is a recommended experience when traveling in Japan, as you can all chat and relax together. For guests who stay more than one night, the hotel offers a free underwear laundry service, and there is also a trouser press in the hotel (please enquire at reception if you wish to use it). Complimentary coffee is provided in the hotel lobby in the mornings, and all-you-can-eat baked goods such as white bread rolls or brown sugar bread rolls are available for 100 yen per person.

The natural abundance of Black Spa

The alkaline hot springs are also popular as beauty-enhancing baths.

Long ago, when the land that is now Ota Ward was still under the Pacific Ocean and geological stratum were still forming, buried grass and leaves were incorporated into the layers of earth in this area. The hot springs that now flow from underground are called the Black Spa because of their brown color, which comes from these ancient fallen leaves and grass. The hot spring waters contain sodium bicarbonate and sodium chloride, which give your skin a moisturized smoothness and the water warms your body from the core. The hotel hot springs are open for drop-in use, and these high-quality baths are visited by locals, of course, and also by people who come from considerably far away.

Guests are free to peruse the books in the lobby or to use the foot massage machines provided there.
