Takahiro Ozeki

Imperial Palace runner

Takahiro Ozeki lives in Minato City and works at foreign investment bank. During his days with his university soccer club, he started going for daily runs in the Imperial Palace area and around the State Guest House. He continues this hobby today, finding time to run before and after work as well as on holidays.

Tokyo is actually a terrific place for runners. From bustling business districts to historic sites to the pleasant and open green parks—the sheer variety ensures that you never get tired of the scenery.

  1. Running past popular spots like the Imperial Palace and the State Guest House and through areas full of modern buildings gives you a powerful sense of how Tokyo has changed and evolved over time
  2. If you choose a course through Yoyogi Park, the Meiji Jingu Gaien Park, or Shiba Park, you’re never far from trendy areas like Harajuku, Aoyama, and Azabu where you can grab something to drink at a hip cafe after your run
  3. At nighttime, the brightly lit urban landscape gives you a whole new perspective of the city
