The first exhibition of Yamatane Museum of Art’s complete Gyoshu collection for 10 years

This year marks the 10th anniversary since the Yamatane Museum of Art relocated to its current location in Hiroo, Shibuya-ku. It is also the 125th anniversary of the birth of Gyoshu Hayami (1894-1935), a famous Japanese painter whose works form the nucleus of the museum’s collection. To mark this joint anniversary, the museum is displaying all 125 pieces by Gyoshu in its collection for this exhibition. Notable pieces from all stages of Gyoshu’s life are on display, including the famous works, Dance of Flames and Camellia Petals Scattering, which were designated important cultural properties.
*Some pieces will be replaced during the exhibition period.
