Note: The 2023 installment of this event has already taken place.
This is the first large-scale illumination event in Tokyo to use locally generated energy from recycled cooking oil, collected from families and restaurants. The cherry trees along the Meguro River, centered around Gotanda Fureai Waterside Square, are illuminated with soft pink LEDs, creating Meguro's signature "Fuyu no Sakura (Cherry Blossoms in Winter)" light display.
