Okuyama Omairimachi Street 奥山おまいりまち商店街

2-3-21 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo

To the west of Sensoji Temple, you can find Okuyama Omairimachi Street. This shopping street was a lively place with street performances in the Edo period (1603–1867). While some of the entertainment was relocated to a neighboring area, the street still maintains an Edo-period style. You can still visit a theater called Mokubakan and see Kabuki shutter paintings throughout town.
