Step back in time to the early days of Japan's clock industry

For lovers of unusual exhibits, The Seiko Museum is an homage to all things time and clocks. Located in Higashi-Mukojima, the museum focuses on the history of the clock industry in Japan. Highlights include a wide range of historical time pieces, from sundials to pendulum clocks to simple wrist watches. Of particular interest are the traditional Japanese clocks which operate on a "seasonal time system," adjusted to reflect the number of daylight hours in a given season.

In addition to the many timepieces, there are also old advertisements on display and guided tours for visitors. If looking to explore the museum at your own leisurely pace, you can rent an iPad to take an audio tour.
