Hachijojima from a bird's-eye view

Hachijojima Island has beautiful views everywhere, but there are eight viewing points you really shouldn't miss. One of the "eight scenic spots" is seen from the Nago Observatory. From here you can see waterfalls among cliffs to your right, and the vast expanse of the Pacific to your left. Below is the bow-shaped Borawazawa Bay, dotted with quaint fishing villages. See the island as the seagulls see it.
