Kushi-Kanzashi Museum 澤乃井櫛かんざし美術館

3-764-1 Yugimachi, Ome City, Tokyo

An extensive collection of antique hair accessories

The Kushi-Kanzashi Museum is home to over 4,000 pieces of hair accessories and clothing collected by late Chiyo Okazaki for a course of 40 years. You will find delicate combs, hairpins and hair sticks used by women in the past in this collection. Different materials were used to make these hair accessories, such as wood, tortoise shell, ceramic, glass, crystal and metal.

Pay attention to the fine craftsmanship—gold relief, inlay, carving and filigree are of the best quality of the time. You will see lots of motifs with nature and human figures on the accessories. Occasionally, you can even admire seasonal wild flowers in the garden.
