Shibuya’s mecca for meat lovers

Shibuya Niku Yokocho is an indoor bazaar in a building near Shibuya Station where two dozen small eateries offer all things meat related. The name Niku Yokocho literally translates to "meat alley." With its festive atmosphere, laid back vibe, and huge variety of food and drink, it’s a great place to while away an evening.

The small shops are separated by partitions and narrow walkways so you can hop from one place to the next sampling its offerings. They serve beer, cocktails and Japanese sake, and the alley is open until five in the morning, making it a great drinking spot.

Niku Yokocho opened in 2010 but expanded from the 2nd to the 3rd floor of the building due to its popularity in 2015. The shops offer everything from traditional Japanese meat dishes like yakiniku and yakitori to more exotic fare like raw beef, churrasco, wagyu burgers, Okinawan pork and lamb chops. There are also non-meat options like sushi, pizza and Thai food.
