The Heart of Performing Arts in Japan

The New National Theatre, Tokyo (NNTT) is Japan's first and foremost national theater for the performing arts of opera, ballet, dance, and drama. Since the doors of this world-class, state-of-the-art theater opened in 1997, it has staged an incredible array of productions, totaling more than 650.

The NNTT is composed of the Opera Palace, the Playhouse, and the Pit, each of which uniquely contribute to an annual total of about 250 stage performances to the delight of approximately 200,000 theater-goers, including many from overseas.
