The Former Kusuo Yasuda House and Garden 旧安田楠雄邸庭園

5-20-18 Sendagi, Bunkyo City, Tokyo

Travel back through history by visiting The Former Kusuo Yasuda House and Garden

You'll find the lush green surrounds of The Former Kusuo Yasuda House and Garden located an approximately seven-minute walk from Sendagi Station. It's a one-of-a-kind, two-story home that combines traditional Japanese design with western influences. You can enter on Wednesdays and Saturdays and wander through the expansive rooms of this carefully restored early 1900s home to see how Tokyo's elite once lived.
Inside the rooms you'll find some displays mainly in Japanese, but there are English leaflets available upon request. Beyond the building, the house is surrounded by secluded and lush Japanese style gardens, proving an almost otherworldly atmosphere. A visit to the home is a perfect accompaniment to exploring the historic neighborhood of nearby Nishi-nippori.
