This modern mansion was constructed in 1919 by the entrepreneur Yoshisaburo Fujita, the founder of Toshimaen. In 1923 it was purchased by Zenshiro Yasuda, the adopted son-in-law of Zenjiro Yasuda (the founder of the former Yasuda zaibatsu [financial conglomerate]). Afterwards, members of the Yasuda family continued to live here. In 1998 it was designated as a famous scenic spot by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
