Sumida River
The fireworks display of Sumida River is a tradition dating back to the Edo period. Over 20 thousand fireworks are set off in this spectacular send-off of the summer season. It is also a competition to showcase the most beautiful and innovative displays of fireworks and shouts of “Tamaya!” and “Kagiya!” are heard in support of the great fireworks masters.
