Asakusa

Asakusa retains much of the culture of the old Edo period and is popular with foreign tourists for it many historical shrines and temples. The Sanja (Three Shrines) Festival held in Asakusa Shrine in May is one of most popular in Tokyo for its charged and energetic atmosphere and is attended by over 1.5 million people each year.
