J-CULTURE FEST

J-CULTURE FEST, taking place at Tokyo International Forum on January 2–3, 2018, is designed to introduce and offer the experience of traditional Japanese culture. Under the concept “Tradition and Evolution,” the event will showcase performances by musicians and dancers (for a fee). The New Year’s Theme Park (admission free, some contents for a fee) will provide a selection of regional zoni soup—an auspicious New Year dish containing mochi rice cakes—a mochi-pounding ceremony featuring sumo wrestlers as guests, quoits and other fair stall games, sake tasting, and more. Visitors are also invited to try their hand at kakizome, the first calligraphy writing of the year; sado, or the Japanese tea ceremony; and ikebana flower arrangement. Discover and get a taste of traditional culture, and enjoy the Japanese New Year celebrations to the full.
