Hakone Yumoto, the entrance to Hakone, is a historical hot springs town dating back to the Nara era.
From Tokyo station / JR Tokaido Shinkansen or Tokaido line -> Odawara station / Hakone Tozan Railway -> Hakone Yumoto -> Kowakudani -> Gora
Shinjuku station / Odakyu Romance Car or Express -> Hakone Yumoto / Hakone Tozan Railway -> Kowakudani -> Gora
A town where many foreigners living in Japan used to visit. It still has a posh atmosphere.
From Hakone Yumoto station, take the Hakone Tozan Railway and exit Miyanoshita station
Since the Tozan Railway started passing through this area in 1919, it has developed as a resort for those with summer houses. It is a Hakone terminal station for the Tozan Railway and Cable Car.
From Hakone Yumoto, take the Hakone Tozan bus for "Moto-Hakone" stop
You can enjoy activities such as fishing and barbequing at Lake Ashinoko, or walking and bird-watching at the forest park.

A popular area for Hakone sightseeing, with famous spots around the Lake Ashinoko shores, such as Hakone Shrine and Sekisho-ato.

A 2 minute walk from "Sekisho Iriguchi" bus stop
A lake that formed about 400,000 years ago, and famous for not freezing all year round. During the vacation season, it's spotted with colorful boats as well as people enjoying water skiing and fishing. Tour boat is available as well.
From Odakyu/Hakone Tozan Railway Hakone Yumoto station, 40 minutes by Bus for Hakone-machi and get off at Moto-Hakone stop
Opened in Japan in 1921. Connects 4 stations from Gora to Sounzan in about 9 minutes.
Exit Gora station on the Odakyu/Hakone Tozan Railway lines
Links the distance of 4035m from Sounzan to Togendai in about 28 minutes, and connects to the pleasure boats on Lake Ashinoko. You can enjoy the landscape of the four seasons while taking in Lake Ashinoko, Owakudani, and Mt. Fuji in the distance.
