How to ride a ship/Fare indication

Ferryboats and high-speed ships to the Izu Islands and the Ogasawara Islands

If you go to the Izu or Ogasawara Islands from Tokyo, you will need to take a ferryboat from Takeshiba Pier. It is best to make a reservation in advance by phone (reservations: Tokai Kisen Co. (for ferryboats and high-speed ships to the Izu Islands): 03-5472-9009; Ogasawara Kaiun Co., Ltd. (for ferryboats to the Ogasawara Islands): 03-3451-5171). Takeshiba Pier is a one-minute walk from "Takeshiba Station" on the New Transit Yurikamome. You will receive tickets at the Takeshiba Pier and board your boat there.

Fare

Though fares vary according to destinations, 10,000 yen (half for children) will get you to the Izu Islands in the first-class cabin. Service by jet boat is also available to some of the islands. Jet boat fares are 8,000-12,000 yen higher than those for ferry boats. However, jet boats make one-day trips possible because they are faster than ferry boats. One-way fares for ferryboats to the Ogasawara Islands range from 20,000 yen to 60,000 yen, varying according to season and class of cabin.

Cruise ship

Cruise ships run from Hinode Pier to various destinations, including Metropolitan Waterfront Subcenter and Asakusa. Hinode Pier is about an eight-minute walk from the south exit of JR Hamamatsucho Station.
