Kitayama Park, featuring views of the nearby Sayama Hills, is a park rich with nature. It was included as one of the "One Hundred Views of New Tokyo," a series of woodblock prints designed to capture scenes of Tokyo.
In early summer, more than 100,000 iris flowers (in more than 600 varieties) bloom here. From early to mid-June each year, the Higashi-Murayama Iris Festival takes place here.
