Choumeiji Temple 長命寺

5-4-4 Mukojima, Sumida City, Tokyo

Just north of Sumida Park on the east side of the Sumidagawa River, enjoy a short stop at Chomeiji Temple. This humble Buddhist temple is known for its sakura mochi (a sweet Japanese rice cake wrapped in a pickled cherry blossom leaf and filled with red bean paste) and the water from its well, which is said to have cured the third Tokugawa shogun Iemitsu's back pain. Afterward you can visit Tokyo Skytree, only a short walk away.
