Kunitachi Local Museum くにたち郷土文化館

6231 Yaho, Kunitachi City, Tokyo

Stroll back to the Jomon period and see a precious stone rod

If you walk in the direction of the Tama River from Yagawa Station, you will come across the Kunitachi Local Museum. Entrance to the regular collection is free, and there are plenty of interactive exhibits.

The biggest attraction, however, has got to be the stone rod that has been designated as an Important Cultural Property. After taking a look at some of the Buried Cultural Property excavated in the city area, you can get a better feel for how they were used by touring a typical structure from the period. Depending on the time of your visit, you might be able to participate in one of the demonstrations of daily life on the old farm.
