Arima Observation Platform ありま展望台

Oketsu, Kozushima Village, Tokyo

Sweeping views of Maehama Beach and Mt. Tenjo

Arima Viewpoint is situated on the south-west coast of Kozushima Island—ten minutes from Kozushima Port by taxi. See Mt. Tenjo rising over the island, and look down towards the white sands of Maehama Beach and the clear, blue sea. As Maehama Beach is only 2km from Arima Viewpoint, it's easy to visit both. On sunny days, you can even see Mt. Fuji, over 100km away. Arima Viewpoint is also a great place to enjoy the sunset in summer.

The large, white cross which stands at Arima Viewpoint is in remembrance of the 17th century Korean Christian, Julia Ota, who was exiled to Kozushima Island for her faith.
