Hatonosu Gorge 鳩ノ巣渓谷

Hatonosu, Tomozawa, Okutama-machi, Tokyo

A clear river tumbling through a gorge full of lush greenery

One of the most beloved places in western Tokyo's Okutama region, Hatonosu Gorge is a vibrantly green gorge throughout the warmer months of the year, and even more striking when the leaves change in autumn. The Tama River flows through the gorge's rugged crags, and the refreshing sound of rushing water echoes throughout the area. A suspension bridge hangs across the ravine, making it easy to take in the gorgeous views.

Hatonosu Valley makes for a great day trip out of the city. The trail there is located just a 3-minute walk from Hatonosu Station on the Ome Line.
