20th Asakusa Kannon-ura Ichiyo Sakura Festival 第20回 浅草観音うら一葉桜まつり

4-47-2 Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo
2024-4-13

Note: In 2024, the Asakusa Kannon-ura Ichiyo Sakura Festival will not include the Edo Yoshiwara Oiran Dochu.

In 2002, 131 ichiyo sakura trees were planted along Ichiyo Sakura Komatsubashi-dori Street, which runs east to west about 500 m north of Sensoji Temple. This festival began along the same street in 2003, the 400th anniversary of the beginning of the Edo period (1603-1867). It features traditional musical performances, work chants, shamisen, and hand-held drums. Local children perform songs, dances, and kabuki shows. There will also be booths and a flea market.
