Note: The 2023 installment of this event has already taken place.

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is located in the heart of Tokyo and combines a European formal garden and landscape garden with a traditional Japanese garden. It is one of Japan's best-known Western-influenced gardens of the Meiji era (1868-1912).

Shinjuku Gyoen's Mori no Takigi Noh event is a spectacular example of both traditional Noh drama and traditional kyogen (Japanese comedy), all set within the beautiful confines of the garden's woods. Performers at the top of their game appear on a stage lit by burning torches. Visitors are rarely permitted to see Shinjuku Gyoen at night, so take this opportunity to enjoy a spell-binding performance.
