Minami-jima Island has a submerged karst terrain and is a geologically valuable island. Ogi-ike lagoon leading to the sea and tunnels made from rock formations are a sight to behold. It is included in the 100 views of New Tokyo. When disembarking from the boat, guests usually have to go through a rocky area, called lapies, therefore extreme caution is necessary. Then, guests will go through a tunnel by sea kayak and disembark on the beach. The disembarkation should be supervised by a Tokyo Metropolitan Government-certified guide.
