The museum is a memorial hall built in a place connected with Matsuo Basho, a haiku poet of the Edo Period. In the museum, materials related to Haiku, including Basho, are occasionally exhibited. A branch museum “Basho-An Historic View Garden” toward Sumida River also attracts tourists.
