Horikiri Shobuen Iris Garden 堀切菖蒲園

2-19-1 Horikiri, Katsushika City, Tokyo

Ever since the first iris garden attracted visitors to Horikiri in the Edo period, various iris gardens have flourished in this area. The current Horikiri Shobuen Iris Garden is based on part of the “Horikiri Garden” – the only one restored after the war.
The Horikiri Shobuen Iris Garden is most known for its 6,000 iris flowers of about 200 species that bloom every summer. Make sure to visit in early to mid-June, when the irises are at their peak and the garden holds its annual iris festival.
