Explore the former summer home of a Japanese prime minister

A little to the north of Hachioji you'll find the Hinode Sanso US-Japan Summit Memorial Hall. This mountainous hideaway was the site of a meeting between Japan's then-Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone and America's president, Ronald Reagan. Once the summer residence of Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone, this retreat is now open to the public.

You can wander through the rooms of the two-story residence, viewing historical artifacts on display.
