This athletic park was developed from part of the former U.S. military’s Yamato Base. Inside the park is the power plant for the former Hitachi Aircraft Tachikawa Plant, one of Higashiyamato City’s cultural assets. Visitors can also observe the new greenery, flowers, fruit, and autumn foliage including 120 kinds of trees.

Opened: June 1, 1986
Area: 98,719.71 m2 (some areas are state-owned property provided under gratuitous loan)
Main plants: Storax, sawtooth oak, konara oak, cherry (someiyoshino, weeping cherry), quadricolor hydrangea
Facilities: Tennis courts, baseball field, exercise field, stream, gateball court, pool, gymnasium (administered by Higashiyamato City, telephone: 042-566-3531)

By train:5 minutes by foot from Tamagawa-josui Station on the Seibu Haijima Line/Tama Monorail

By bus:From Tachikawa Station on the JR Chuo Line, take the Tachikawa Bus for Oyama-danchi and get off at the Tamagawa-josui stop (8 minutes by foot). Or take the Seibu Bus for Nangai and get off at the Nangai stop (5 minutes by foot).
