Tokyo Illumilia will feature street lighting decorations that combine traditional Japanese culture with illumination, and in some places look like scenes from the Edo period. The cherry trees at the intersections along Sakura-dori Street will be made into “gates of light” by decorating their long, overlapping branches hanging over the streets with LED. These interconnected “gates of light,” which will be created with approximately 150,000 champagne-gold LED bulbs, will bathe the entire town in a gorgeous, elegant light.
