Jindai Botanical Gardens 神代植物公園

2 and 5 chome Jindaiji-Moto-machi/1 and 2 Jindaiji-Kita-machi/4 and 5 chome Jindaiji-Minami-machi, Chofu City, Tokyo

Wander through seemingly endless fields of flowers at Jindai Botanical Gardens

Sitting right next to Jindaiji Temple, the sprawling park that makes up the Jindai Botanical Gardens is home to the biggest rose garden in Tokyo and a variety of seasonal plants that transform during the seasons. If you find yourself in Tokyo during autumn, don't miss the chance to wander through the park's blossoming roses—there are around 5,000 of them—which draw visitors from across the country.
You can witness the beauty of the local plum trees, cherry trees, wisteria, and peonies in spring, and exotic tropical and sub-tropical plants all year round in the large greenhouse located next door to the rose garden. Head to the on-site Center for Plant Diversity for an interactive education on all things botanical.
