Ochanomizu Origami Kaikan お茶の水おりがみ会館

1-7-14 Yushima, Bunkyo City, Tokyo

Connect with the local community via the art of origami

Part retail store, part craft workshop, part education facility, Ochanomizu Origami Kaikan is a multi-functional space dedicated to the art of origami. Founded in 1858 as a factory for dying washi, traditional Japanese paper, the space now hosts regular workshops and art exhibitions.

The organization aims to promote cross-cultural exchange between Japan and the international community. There are mini origami lessons held daily, offering a quick and fun way for visitors to interact with the local artisans and try something new when they’re in the area. For those looking to get a little more serious there are a variety of other more intensive courses on offer too.
