The beauty of cherry blossoms and of Japan

The festival comprises multiple events for experiencing Japan’s unique charms, such as decorations depicting cherry blossoms, the Sakura Bar (provisional title) where you can tour shops serving liquor and light meals, and the Sakura Bus which circles popular sakura destinations... At night, historical buildings are illuminated to create a breathtaking cityscape.

Nippachikai Sakura Matsuri

A majestic illumination display

The avenue stretching from JR Tokyo Station Yaesu North Exit to Nihombashi Kayabacho is lined with 169 cherry trees that tint the cityscape a pale pink. Enjoy the blossoms illuminated at night between Sotobori-dori and Showa-dori streets, as well as a variety of events.

Amazake Yokocho Sakura Matsuri

2,500 complimentary cups of sweet sake

The Somei Yoshino and Oshima Cherry varieties of cherry tree bloom to create a pale pink arch on Hamamachi-ryokudo Street intersecting Amazake Yokocho (Sweet Sake Alley). The festival on this “sweet sake alley” hands out 2,500 cups of sweet sake for free, and organizes a drawing for winning well-known products offered in the shopping district.
